Before Play:
Before I played this game I have to say I thought it looked pretty weird; but it had the potential of being interesting so I picked it up and gave it a try.
Review:
Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, the characters in this game never shut they're mouths. Don't get me wrong some of the dialog is interesting; but most of it is very weird, very dry stuff that has little importance to the story of the game. The story it self starts out strong and goes strong for a little over 30 seconds then the game becomes awkwardly predictable, I do have to say some of the in-game enemy's (big daddy's) are pretty bad -@ss but they're little counter parts still creep me out(silly little sisters.)
The Good:
This game is super unique - unique enemy's; a totally revamped system of fighting; unique weapons - you get the general idea.
Based in a cool time period ( I <3 the 50's)
The Bad:
Crap plot development - I predicted how the story would turn out from the second my character met that guy who talked my ear off through-out the game.
Too much dialog - may not be so annoying throughout the first play through but the second you will be muting the game and praying that you don't die so that you don't have to hear some really dry over used joke again.
Incomplete things in the game - a lot of the best things in the game really seem incomplete or rushed - honestly they should have cut out some of the dialog and added some more weapons or attacks. Even though theres a lot of different unique things in this game it seems like not many of them met they're full potential
Unbalanced difficulty's - You can run around on the first difficulty smacking things silly and feel like an absolute pro and then on the hardest difficulty everything hands you your behind in like less than a second while they knit you a coat.
And the ending of the game is very cliche; so much so that its kinda like a soap opera - a really weird one.
The game is really short - I beat it in less than 3 days.
And the final boss is really really really dumb. I would put it another way but I don't wish to be offensive.
Rent or Buy:
Rent - a lot of people like this game a lot for some reason but I can't see playing through more than 3 times and keeping my sanity. I mean killing weird crazy people is fun - but I'd rather do it while they or their crazy friends are silent rather than asking me if I am "Mr.Jangles." or telling me some back story about choice.
Rating:
5 out of 10 Big Daddy's "Oh yeah baby."
